throttle resonse fixes 5.4
ok so i have heard a few ideas on fixing the throttle response issue.
cleaning your throttle body
installing a device for 300 bucks in the pedal
and one fellow said to reset the pedel with the key on
etc etc
but one fellow in an old post said the device that opens the flap is adjustable. they also all agree we dont get full throttle. this fellow said the bolt holes are slotted and he loosened the bolts and adjusted it to get full throttle then tightened everything down. he also said he had to reset something, and didnt go into detail.
but this guy swears his truck became a new critter! more responsive and a tire spinning beast. has anyone else heard of this? and if you have do you mind explaining it in detail?
im not interested in aftermarket parts for the fix, i feel the truck should have came responsive and there is a way of adjusting it.
if i cant get any help im goin to start experimenting to figure it out. ill post any findings.

I had the same problem on my 08 Limited 5.4 when I bought it 2 months ago. Here's what I did to fix the problem. Turn the key to the on position but DON'T start the engine. Now press the gas peddle to the floor SLOWLY and let it come up/back as fast as you can, turn key to the off position. Now do this two more times. Now start the engine and go for a test drive then report back here with your findings!
This procedure works on my motorcycle so I tried it on my truck and it worked there too!
I also disconnected my battery but that was a couple of days later and wasn't done to correct the throttle problem but it drives like it's suppose to now.

I got mine to 108%. Wide open throttle started being displayed at around 89% and I still had throttle left. On the floor, the pid reads 108%.
I took the assembly out to try the mustang mod, saw that it's a different system on the F150, so had to put it back in after doing nothing. But when I went to reinstall, I saw that the 2 bottom mounting holes are oblonged just a little. I put in the top bolt, and I held the the bottom of the pedal assembly as far forward as possible,and tightened the bottom bolts. turned the key on, waited for the lights and did the reset. Like I said it went from a top reading of 87% to 108%, and the difference from a dead stop take off now is amazing.

I tried the tip listed of turning on the ignition, slowly depressing the gas pedal and quickly lifting then turning off the ignition three times. Now I can spin the rear tires with 325/60R18's on dry pavement !!!
I just bought a 2004 scab fx4 with 52k miles on a credit union short sale for $12600 and while it was a great deal, I found it to be quite sluggish. I assumed it was these giant tires, but after trying this it's now a completely different game. Thanks for the tip !!!

Why does this work? I just did it to mine... and i felt a difference.. but not as much as i expected.. I've always been able to burn the tires on my truck with brake with 285/70/17 mt's, now it seems a little easier.. but was always easy...
