Default three note chime?

Was driving along today when all of a sudden my 05 f150 gave out three rapid chimes...weird, then it happened again several times over the next few hours. No explanation in the manual, any suggestions before I head to the dealer tomorrow?

Mine did the same thing a week after I got it. Mine ended up being the low fuel warning. Of course mine says "low fuel" on the cluster. Scared the crap out of me when it chimed. Any lights/indicators on the display? Seat belt warning? Driver and passenger seats each have chimes.

Well actually I had lots of fuel and I have had the low fuel chime go off and it is just a single chime. This was a triple chime and I have no idea what it is related to.

the next time it happens, look carefully at the instrument panel..... but don't run into anything!

a warning light usually comes on with the warning chime or there is a message in the odometer window ( door ajar, etc.)

have a look.........

In looking at the owners manual (briefly), I read that the chime is activated for keys in the ignition, seatbelt, or headlights on with key out.

Did not have time to research 3 chimes; my guess would be that the chimes want you to check guages/information center.

have tried all of the above, all guages are reading correctly, digital read out indicates everything is fine and no warning lights are on, no aftermarket radio installed. Looks like a trip to the dealer to ripped off for lord knows how much! Probably just a defective sensor of some sort would be my guess. Over the phone, service guy said he never heard of it before, never a good sign. Also on the same trip (8 hours) cruise control shut itself off when I put my signal light on to pass. Happened twice, I did not inadvertently touch the brake pedal, as I thought the first time it happened.

Will let you all know how this turns out, but in the meantime if you think of anything, my appointment is not until tomorrow.

Post uh oh

Sounds to me like a bad PCM. Good luck with that one. I hope it is something much cheaper to fix! Make sure the PCM has the latest calibrations or get them to flash it for you (if you end up getting a new one).
