You have to use an abrasive cleaner. I used Zaino class cleaner before it worked, but that was years ago there's probably something better.

Look online for "glass polish" or something like that, you actually need to polish those hard water stains out.

I'd try a clay bar first. If that doesn't remove them, go with this:
Amazon.com: Griot's Garage 11063 Glass Polish - 8 oz.: Automotive Amazon.com: Griot's Garage 11063 Glass Polish - 8 oz.: Automotive

works wonders on glass!

I have the same issue but to a lesser degree. I am grabbing a claybar tonight. If that doesn't do it, autogeek has some detaliers pro glass restorer that I will try.

Pro tip: Barkeepers Friend for glass. Don't get it on painted surfaces. Get the powder so you can mix it as strong as you need it.

Well I grabbed a Meguiars clay bar kit with quick detailer and a microfiber towel and on one section of the rear window went to town. It removed 90%,of the spots in a matter of minutes! Can't wait to show the glass some real attention and I am confident I can make it all look good as new.

I've never tried it myself, but I've heard of using vinegar. I use invisible glass with the blue paper towels, but I really haven't had to tackle spots that were baked on for a really long time.
