Default Speed Sensor???? HELP!!!!

I have a 2004 F150 and need to replace the speed sensor on the differential and was curious if this was a difficult task? Any comments and suggestions would help.

It's one bolt and a plug. It is on top of the differential you can't mis it. Hardest part about the job is crawling under the truck

Thanks for the advice, I plan on changing it this weekend. I think I will jack the truck up by the body so that it will give mem more room on top of the differential.

You probably don't even need to jack it up, but if you want to you can. For reference, I had a pic of the speed sensor on my Ranger and you can see that there is plenty of room to get in there.

Once I change it do I need to have the computer reset or can I simply take off the negative battery cable and wait 10 to 15 minutes then put it back on. Will the computer recognize the new sensor?

Typically you will be fine. Im pretty sure Fords recognize the new sensors... its Chrylers that have to have to pinion factor set. Worst case scenario your speedo wont work right.
