Default Rusting cab corners

I am officially all the way through on my p/s cab corner. The d/s is rusting too but it isn't nearly as bad (yet). Anyone else dealt with this? There is no abnormal wetness inside the hole that I can see. I sealed up my 3rd brake light when I first got the truck 2 years ago. Anyone know where the sunroof drain ends up?

In any event, I don't think this will be cheap to fix Everything else on the truck is in great shape.

The corrners are common, and I have been told the replacement part/section is like $50 or 60 dollars for the part. The real cost is the body work and labor. From what I can tell on my truck is that all the moisture the gets down thru the rocker channel from the cab and along the body ends up sitting in these corner if the truck is parked with any amount of nose up angle. IF you look at the back side of the rocker panel you will see about 6 rubber plugs between the from of the cab and the corner. As for 3rd brake light water intrusion mine was bone dry when I checked. No signs of water ever getting in. The sun roof drain runs of the passenger side and down the B pillar. I am not sure where it discharges at.

By the way nice choice of color white on the characoal gray FX4, always look good. Do you have leather interior as well?

I'm finding cab corners from Mill Supply at about $43 a piece. My father-in-law does some body work and I think this is something I might try. I'll take it to the body shop for the paint work.

Yes I have black leather interior. Love it! Sucks to deal with this kind of rust though...especially on a truck that is only 8 years old. I've had much older trucks and never had a panel that was all the way rusted through.

Join the club, I am right there with ya! Both my corners on either side of my truck are going rapidly. I will be getting it taken care of before winter or early spring. I got an estimate from an autobody shop, to take out a couple small dents, repair the rusty corners and bedline the rocker panels, a cool 1500. They said to do it correctly they need to take the bed off the truck.

I just got mine back from the body shop last week. New cab corners and repainted the box as it was scratched and the paint was flaking under the factory flares.

I showed up and they repainted my rear bumper while they were at it, no extra charge

Seems like its only an issue with Supercrews from what Ive seen.

My uncle's '04 f150 and my cousin's '04 F150 have rusted cab corners.

Mine were rusted thru on my 04 when I bought it. The sunroof drains to the cab corners, or so I've been told.

Got them fixed, along with the trashed rockers. Much better.

Thanks for linking my thread bro!

You guys should bring your cab corner issues and chatter to my thread, which is intended to grab the attention of Ashley and the Ford service team...

My cab corners are getting worse, and a fix needs to be happen soon IMHO.. My biggest hope is that Ford can see this issue for what it is, and accommodate their customers with a solution....
