Hey guys, I had wrote in earlier asking about removing my F150 badges from my 05 XLT and replacing with the 09/10 ones. It was recommended using heat (hair dryer or heat gun) and fishing wire. As I started with the one on the tailgate I had the trouble of my fishing wire snapping so easily. It wasnt a big deal because i had lots to spare, just frustrating. So I decieded to try a diff method of sharpening the end of a paint stir stick and prying as I heated. This worked great! down in 1/4 the time and the paint was fine. After it was off i used the same edge to peel the main adhesive from one edge to the other (much easier NOT heated up) then used goo gone to clean the rest of the surface. Once it was clean and smooth applied a little wax and presto! new decals were on. Thought id pass forward for anyone seeking info. Photos attached on results!!!

ok, so finally got a chance to try to switch mine and....... it took me 3hrs for ONE side!!!!!! that stupid glue killed me, and i guess the guys at the ford dealer sold me the wrong badge because the pegs don't work and the glue docent even thought the truck with the pegs cut........................ where did you get your badges and i did the sharpened paint mixer but is there a easier/faster way to do this?

hey man sounds like your having a hell of a time haha. I ordered mine off www.tasca.com. The prices seemed decent, and even with shipping (I live in Alberta, Canada) it cost me 85 for all 3. If you do order of this site, gotta be careful about the one of the tailgate, the new F150s have curves in the tailgate while in my case it was flat, just make sure you order the flat one (ive seen people order other one, just need a bit more home adjustment to make them work) I ordered the flat back and it was a peice of cake.

Ok, next off are you heating it up a bit? I used a hair dryer just so there was some movement of the badge made it MUCH easier. Secondly, even though i said the fishing line didnt work great, I used a bit to pull against the back side of the decal to break some of the adhesive (you can go very far since you hit the studs ) Thats when i started using the stir stick. Slowly get an edge from one side with the sharpened edge and dont stop with the hair dryer, the more heat the better. Mine popped off pretty easy after i got it started.

I agree with you on the next step, that glue is not fun at all!. Very time consuming and nothing you can do about it, But i found using the same iedge of the stir stick i just slowly rolled bit by bit ( I know prob not much help haha)

After the main big stuff was off, I just held a rag under the decal area and covered it with goo gone, let it soak it and rub like hell! gonna have to repeat to get it perfect.
