Default please help new guy!

Hey guys n gals I love the site I always search these forums for answers to my truck problems and usually find my answer! Until now. So I joined up so I can ask! I have an 07 fx4 with the factory amp/sub under the rear seat. I'm not sure if it's the amp or sub, but it cuts out allllll the fricken time, my other speakers still work, but no bass, and as a music lover, it's driving me insane!! I have to turn off the h/u, turn back on, then it works again, for an unknown amount of time. It does this about 10-20 times (so annoying) then seems to work ok after it "warms up" kind thing. It's totally random, happens when loud, quiet, idling, driving, I'm stumped. The stereo is comPletely stock except
For a kenwood h/u I had put in. I had the same problem when the factory 6 disc h/u was in as well. Can someone please help!! I don't want to buy a new amp/sub if I don't have to but this problem is too annoying to deal with. Thanks!!

Yea my truck did the same (audiophile) If you run your system to hard it's cuts the sub off from blowing it.. (assumption) ever since I put in a in-dash DVD player never had the problem.

Ya that makes sense, mine seems to be the exact opposite tho, it cuts out at low volume right away in the mornings, and works better after driving/listening to music for about 20 mins, weird eh? Thanks for the reply tho

Who wired it?? If it's wired wrong you'll have issues.. Lets say someone decided to only use 2 speaker outputs instead of all 4 for FL,FR,RL,RR you'll be burning up your head unit...

Future shop in Alberta, I had the same problem tho while my factory h/u was still in there. All door speakers work fine it must be a problem with the oem amp/sub combo (I think) Just wonderin if anyone had similar issues but I've searched everywhere and no one seems to have had this problem, it's driving me nuts

Where about in Alberta are you? I have a factory sub I took out years ago you can try. Then you can see if it is your sub/amp or the install. I'am located in Lloydminster.

I live in calgary. Thats mighty neighborly of you although I'm not 100% sure where Lloyd is. (still kinda new to Alberta). Would u be willing to sell the thing if it solved my problem? I'm willing to drive half way across Alberta to fix this!
