PHP tunes

Yes that should be right. If I am remembering correctly they cannot write tunes specifically for your truck until you give that to them.
I've had my gryphon for about a year now and when I bought it it took about a week to get the tuner itself, then about 3 weeks to get the tunes through their software. They do help a lot of the forum so I'd try that if you are having trouble getting in touch with them.

Just got my Gryphon CTS in the mail yesterday for my 2009 with 5.4. I have submitted my HEX code and all to them so that he can write my custom tubes based on my mods. It is a small family owned business consisting of 3 people so it is difficult getting in touch, but on the bright side they are super nice and willing to help you out in any way possible. I am not going to try the "canned" tunes because I don't want lean fuel damage cause by my CAI, but so far as having it there to monitor gas mileage, intake temp, and MAF is already freakin' sweet!

Yeah small business for sure. They have a posting on facebook today that says they are close because someone has the flu or something. Thats the only downfall is that they have 3 people. They just started cutting back on what they offer product wise too.

Yeah, but in todays world I'd much rather buy from a small business anyway its the only way to rebuild our economy. The only reason they aren't offering some other products is that they're getting so many requests for newer model truck tunes/programmers that it's hard to keep up with the older vehicle requests since there just aren't as many any more.

the canned tunes are pretty decent the performance requires 93 octane, the towing is 87 and it even helps with a little more power, and the transmission tunes only changes the timing and shift "firmness" I ran the towing and transmission before I got my custom tunes just to mess around and see how they are.

From what I've been reading I think you're right, though I'm not expert. It seems as though the custom tune must take into account the type of CAI you're running, and canned tunes do not. Therefore you would run lean with canned tunes.

I really want to try the Performance and Extreme tunes but don't want to screw something up that'll end up costing me more than it was worth to just wait.

Ive been running canned tow tune from Edge for over a year on my truck with AFE CAI and flowmaster super 44 (even though specific exhaust doesnt matter for tunes if it is catback). I havent thrown a code or anything. It doesnt mean i still could still be doing damage to the engine but I havent had any problems. Running lean wont always throw a code. You also dont need to be towing anything to use the tow tune. The tow tune is for more low end power to get the tires churning.
