Default Not again??

So not to long ago i had to change my FPDM. My truck was missing and after a month of searching You guys helped me solve this issue. One month later This one burns up? It was brand new and does not have a hole in the metal plate like the other one did. Is there something that would cause it to go out?

What brand was the part? Maybe it has a warranty.

Was it a cheap replacement you bought? Or was it oem? Sometimes equipment fails and you just need another maybe try that

Motorcraft, Stright from ford. The delership i picked it up from said there must be a problem with my truck. I am taking it to them at lunch and try to exchange it. I dont think they make a aftermarket part for them.

^ $50-60 is what the Dorman unit runs. I bought one to sit in my garage until the stock one starts getting corroded.

Online at RockAuto you can get one shipping included for about $64 but you would be out of business for a few days. Replaced mine in January, no problems yet. Look it up and print out the page then take it to Ford to show the service manager how much he is ripping you off by. They should give you a replacement
Before you replace it, look on the outside of the frame under the drivers door and there is a plastic splash guard "protecting" a couple of wiring harnesses. remove it and see how much wet gravel is collected inside of it. Mine was full to the top and one of those wire harnesses goes directly to the FPDM! Really I was shocked by how much wet soil and gravel was in there, probably weighed about 8 pounds!
