Default MPG

hey guys, anyone know how to fix mpg issues... im supposed to be getting 15-16 city but instead only getting 11-12

any tips?

160840, oil change every 4 months, replaced all spark plugs,
history, truck well maintained from previous owner

I think most people are around the 12-13 MPG range.

That sounds about right for my 5.4L 3V as well.

On here it says the 5.4L 3V on 2WD will get 14 City, but it is also worth noting the EPA estimates for MPG is under IDEAL driving conditions. Extremely light acceleration on flat ground with an average amount of stop-and-go traffic in a NEW vehicle.. Any deviation in any of those categories can cause a drop in MPG.

I'd say given that it's a 12~ year old truck for the average person, 11-12 city sounds about what some people will get within reason.

id love to get 15.16 city...i get 16 mixed with 70-80% hwy...

I get a little over 12mpg and i'm running 305's. 2005 5.4 2wd 115K
