You are where you need to be with city driving, maybe a bit low but not much. It also depends how hard you are on the skinny pedal. 15-16 is closer to highway MPG...

Are you using the numbers from the trucks computer or figuring out your own numbers? My dash says I average 15, but I actually get closer to 17. The trucks computer can be 2 or 3 mpg off easily.

Default Mpg

I just bought a used 2004 150 xlt with 58k on the clock, I am getting 14.3 mpg in city driving. I have the 4.6 v8 and I thought I would have gotten better than that. This truck was bought new by an elderly man who traded after 12 years to buy a new one. I don't even think it's broke in good by the right way it drives

4.6/5.4 or just about any truck in general aren't for gas mileage, i told myself that when i bought a full sized truck.. i've never complained about how much gas it sucked... i also drive my truck hard too... in the 38k i've put on it in a year it's been a great truck

Take the numbers and do the math yourself. The computer in the truck can be off.

Rear end gearing, oversized tires, and any added weight will lower gas mileage.
