Default Missfire

Changed spark plugs and coils....even had a collapsed purge hose and replaced the purge valve as well. But when driving around 40-45 I'll let off the gas and give it some throttle to pick up speed and it'll missfire....last time it did that that's when I changed the plugs and coils and it stopped but now it's going it again. Thought about the spark plug seal maybe?....idk just tried to look for other solutions. But I did unplug each coil connector while the truck was running and no change in idle. I'm hopeing it's not the torque converter.

thanks in advance for your input!

If plugs and coils aren’t solving your misfires, you’ll need to dig deeper for diagnosis.

Without knowing anything else except that you drive an 04-08 new body F150, that’s all we’ve got.

ceejeezy671, you need to check for codes present in the PCM
Some of what you say does make little sense
Not everybody is a natural born technician
The spark plug seals as you call them (coil boots or plug boots) need to be replaced with every tune up (spark plug change)
Rest easy, the torque converter will not cause a misfire (very uncommon shudder maybe) that can be confused with an engine misfire
Those collapsed purge and PCV hoses are so common these days with the cheap rubber they use now
Verify what the fuel trims are with a cheap 40 dollar scan tool in live data

I'd guess there is a defective spark plug that doesn't pass muster under load. If you have a OBD2 device that will read live data you could monitor misfire counter by cylinder and see which one is acting up.

from what I was told the seal is referring to the seal where the spark plug threads into...not the coil itself. That's just what I was told havnt looked too much into that. But I do have a scan tool with live data feature that I will plug into to see which cylinder is misfiring.

While you have the scan tool hooked up, check the fuel trims
Also, the front O2 sensors, watch them switch above and below 1/2 volt
