500 miles between oil changes? You must have a money tree in the back yard.

If you folks are changing your oil at 3K or less intervals, you should switch to a semi-synthetic blend. The prices you pay for full synthetic are supposed to be to extend the oil change interval to a minimum of 5k or higher, depending on the oil companies recommendation, or how you use the truck (severe duty, towing).

Twice a year with Motorcraft 5-20 semi synthetic currently. Thinking about using Mobile 1 full synthetic for the next change and do it once a year since I put ~8k miles on my truck yearly....

No, I meant 500. It's based on as much science and research as most of the other options.

So AK Cowboy - What does your Blackstone look like after 9,000 mi?
As far as oil looks, try a diesel. It is awful looking almost immediately.
I'm not sure looks is a good measure. Should not be lumpy though.

I'm supercharged and I change mine with mobile 1 synthetic every 3k miles. I do a lot of city driving and idling and I ride the truck pretty hard too.

Mobil 1 synthetic with Mobil 1 filter- usually 4 to 6k, I usually do it on time now, every 6 months regardless. I drive 4-5 miles each way to work. I am willing to pay now so to hopefully pay less later.

I can hope can't I........
