Default Leveling Kit Question...

I have an 05 4x4 and I was going to level it 2.5". My question is, for me to fit 35" tires, would I have to go with the 3" or would the 2.5" or 2" suffice? Some product sites like daystar and ready lift say that a 2" on a 04-08 4x4 will recommend 35's and they say that a 2" on a 04-08 2wd will recommend 33's. I'm getting conflicting reports and before I spend my money, I want to buy the right parts. In the end I want to fit 35's and I just don't know whether to purchase 2", 2.5", or 3". Someone please send me in the right direction. Thanks

2.5" Auto Spring front and then you could get an add a leaf or a rear lift block, and that will clear 35s on a wheel near factory backspacing. Get pictures up when you do it

2" will fit 35's but on stock rims and you will still get some rubbing at full lock.

I will be running the stock 18" rims. I just wanted to confirm which kit I should buy. Most likely the 2.5" or 3". I'll check both out.

When she's done, I'll post up pics for sure. Probably at least a week or two as I have to wait for the kit to be shipped, install it, get the tires, and then an alignment.

Now does the brand that I use matter much? I've seen 2.5" and 3" on ebay for around $50-$100. Also, would I have to have the speedometer recalibrated? If so, do I have to take that to a specialist, the dealer, is it something I could do (I'm very handy with my tools), or would I have to get a power programmer? And would I have to change the tranny shift points? Thanks

you will rub 35's at full lock, nothing major. dealers can't program a 35 inch tire, get yourself a tuner or calibration unit.

You will defidently have to have the speedo recaliberated. The shop that puts on your wheels/tires should be able to do it, and if they can't then I'd call around to find somewhere else to do it...
