Default lariat upgrades

i am currently sitting on the trigger ready to pull on one of a few different lariats I have been debating over. I was curious as to how difficult it would be to install heated seats in one.

The one I am leaning toward does not have the heated seats option but overall I believe is the better truck (big fan of heated seats).

I was wondering if there was a way to run the coils into the seats that come with it or if I should switch the seats out for heated ones. It can not be very hard if its a factory upgrade im assuming.

Anyone with any info or experience with this let me know, winter is approaching!

Not sure about swapping but I know you can buy aftermarket seat heaters at many car stereo places. If memory serves me correctly they are less than $500 installed.

Aftermarket would probably be the easier of the two. The factory heated seat switches are integrated into the climate control module.

All due respect to you, Me living in Alaska all my life, the heated seats are NOT worth the hassel upgrade tires audio and 4x4 mods, tires. heated seats will let you down plus the fact that you do NOT live in a 40 below climate lose the heat and build the truck. Man up!

You can buy heated kits that are like $100 a piece. It says great for cars trucks etc... with small seats by 9" x 18" doesnt sound like small

Easy to say when you live in a state with "africa hot" summers. While the winters do get chilly in the Dallas area, they may not compare to the temps the original poster is subject to.

My wife has the heated seat option in her BMW. At first I thought it was a extravagant option, but she's the type that can catch a chill in the summer when a fly buzzes past her. Keeping her backside warm is a nice option on a chilly morning. I see no reason why a heated seat option requires a comment to "man up".

GATORB8 mentioned the factory option integrates the heated seats within the climate control option. If you have this option (automatic climate control), then the seat wiring connector may already be factory wired, and simply installing seats with this feature would be plug and play so to speak. That or find a pair of junked seats with the factory heating pads and install them into your seats.
I can check my factory schematic book tonight and get the wiring color code for the heated seat pad; you can then check to see if these wires are currently existing in the underseat wiring connector.

Remember, to retrofit, you're going to need a new EATC module ($$$)

Here's the connector that should be under the seat if it's prewired:
