Default K & N Filter

I getting ready to change my stock air filter for a K&N on my 08 FX2. Does anyone know the part number on this filter? The K&N website says its 33-2287 but when I look them up on different websites its says its fits 04-05.

Dont do it... K&N is junk... I know I am going to get crap...again... for saying this, but there are so many other filters out there that are much much better... AIRAID, and AFE are just a couple that are worlds better than K&N

If you're only doing the filter there are no problems....there are a lot of different filters out there and everyone has different opinions but as for just the filter K&N wont do anything

Just curious, but why don't you like K&N filters? Not trying to give you any crap. Is it thier intakes, filter replacements, both? I've had a K&N filter replacement in mine for almost a year with no problems.

I used to run them all the time... for the longest time I thought they were the best.... then I saw on my wife's car and my truck (after I read an article about an engine blowing due to one) the inside of the intake tube was filthy... the oil had coated it and the filteration for K&N is horrible so all the dirt that got through stuck to the oil coating everything..... My wife's car has a drop in and my truck had a full intake.... now these were fairly new so you cant say I over oiled them because I didnt oil them, They came oiled like that.... I saw the problems first hand and saw how crappy their filteration was and I subsoquently did a lot of research after that and found everygreen performance had an incredible filteration setup.... and they were imporving it all the time... Evergreen shortly after became AIRAID.... I have been running their stuff ever since... and the reason I push them so hard is because I was cleaning my filter one day in the driveway and dropped the filter... it rolled into the road and was ran over by a car.... so I called up AIRAID and told them what happened and that I needed to order a new one... they said they'd warranty it and it was all good.... I couldnt believe they would do that... but their no hassle warranty is just that... a no hassle warranty....

I hope that answers your question

ive had a k&n FIP kit in my truck for bout a year and a half now. it was the first mod i put in my truck other than my 325s. my neighbor, who is a well-known mechanic in my college town, was tellin me that yes, he's seen several people with k&n setups blow their engine because the oil got coated and into the TBI, as u had said. but it was from people not letting the oil dry before replacing the filter. i do agree though, K&N may not be the best product, but it holds his own. i wouldnt mind changing it out though, but being a college student, im poor as ****** but i still love the results and added power it gave me from response and midrange torque.

Ok, I didn't want to start a debate on which company has the best filter, just wanted to know if the part number is correct for my truck. Just out of curiosity, what can I expect from a clold air intake installed on my truck?

oh its not a debate. we're just givin u some words bout our own past experiences

as from a CAI, u should expect better response from the jump, some more power in the mid to high rpm range, and more than likely some better gas mileage. along wit a kick***** new look under the hood
