if you have the right tools and know your way around an engine you can install a CAI in about 30 mins

I just installed my CAI a few weeks ago it was really easy just follow the instructions but ya I agree with the other guys dont waste your time with just a filter it isnt gonna do much for your truck. Go with a CAI they are definetly worth it youll love the sound

I just did the filter and gained about 1.5 mpg's. Noticed a difference in accelleration, also.

I've used K&Ns for over 15 years with NO problems at all. I guess filters are personnal preferences

Ive used k+n for years without a problem and have the drop in on my 08.If i had to buy a new one today after doing some research i would go with a s+b drop in they look the best for stopping the dust.

So here's another update on my hatred for K&N.... my brother in law put the K&N on his 2000 F150 about 2 years ago, and was just like you guys... stood by it said it was great.... He blew his motor this week and yesterday the tech that torn it down to put the new motor in said it was due to the dust and debris that was sucked through the filter and all the excess oil that was with it... and he was meticulous about not over oiling it.... so he just has a $3000 bill for a new engine because of the K&N... needless to say, he bought an AIRAID

I can't believe that he blew an engine on account of his K & N air filter. I have used them for years myself and I have never heard of anything like that. Needless to say I went ahead and went with the K & N. Thanks for everyones input.
