Default I Did It!

I did it I installed my CAI last night it was easy wxmcpo was right even a blind squirrel could do it .Just a couple of concerns 1) I was wondering if anyone that has the AF 1 CAI have you had any issues with brake lines rubbing against the heat shield they seem to be awful close , 2) Do i have to re set computer even if the engine light hasn't come on . Hopefully I will get pics posted later tonight or tomorrow am

With the new trucks, you really should get a tuner with the CAI. Even though it may not set a CEL it may be running at the edge of setting it. The computer can only compensate so much. These trucks are lean from the factory, you are adding more air and that makes them leaner. Good AF ratio on a NA engine is 13.1 Mine started at 16.2 and only went to 14.5 at WOT. After the tuner it went 13.1, then I put the exhaust on it and it went a little rich, then put the intake on it and it went back perfect.

here are the picks I promised

NGM I can't afford a tuner at this time it shouldn't be a problem from how I understand you I probably won't get full potential out of it? It hasn't set off the check engine light as of yet and by the way the instructions claim as long as check engine light does not come on no need to reset computer so I'm assuming I should be ok I'm not disagreeing with you I trust you more then a piece of paper I just don't know I'm not very mechanical wise I do plan on getting a tuner just monies are a little lean right now

Default brake line rub?

I just installed my AF1 last week and noticed the same thing. The lines are very close if not touching. I have also noticed a vibration noise every now and then when I have my foot on the brake. It is definitely coming from the brake lines and heat shield. Anyone else have this problem? The intake is great otherwise. It also goes along well with the xcal 3. Big difference from stock, even though I am running premium fuel. Can't wait to get my custom tunes from troyer!

let me know if you figure something out please....

PS - its not that big of a noise, but it really annoys the **** outta me!
