Default Highbeam issue.

I have a 2006 SCREW 4x4 with 40,000 miles on it. While driving home about a week ago, at night, I flipped on my high beams. After doing so my high beams immediately went of and I had no headlights at all. I flipped the lows back on and they came on but my fogs did not. I had to push in and pull back out my fog lights switch and they came back on. So I did this a few more times and the same scenario occurred each time. Weird thing is that the high beam indicator light would come on telling me the high beams were on but they were not. When I turned them of and back to low beams the high beam indicator light stayed on but was not as bright as it was when it was telling me my non existent high beams were on. I checked all fuses and relays and found nothing wrong with any of them. So I guess I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what was the fix. They are stock headlight housings with after market bulbs, and they are the stock bulb size/model bulbs installed. Aadvicadvise or

Sounds like the blue widget has moved into your head light wiring harness. I just hope its not the yellow widget instead.

By that you mean the actual lever switch on the steering column.

The root of the issue shouldn't be your factory headlights or your aftermarket bulbs. I agree, I would say it's an electrical issue related to your headlight switch. You can remove it from it's housing and check the electrical connectors. If all the fuses and relays are looking good, and all the wiring is intact then there has to be a problem with the switching.

I guess my next move should be looking at the high, low, switch on the steering column then. It's about all that's left besides wires.
