Default HID's Install Question?

Ok so today I got my High/Low kit from DDM. Buddy and I installed it in like 20 minutes. Started up the truck, turned the lights on, NOTHING! So we checked all the connections everything was good. We wondered why there was only one 3 prong plug in instead of two (one for each light.) So we took it all out and I called DDM. They told me the 3 prong plug needs to be plugged into the ECU to bi-pass all the stock wiring. Did anyone have to do this with their kit? Mind you this is on an F-150. Where is the ECU close to? I haven't even looked for it as it was getting dark and I figured I would deal with it tomorrow. The thing that baffles me is the instructions say nothing about an ECU.

yeah I finally found that last night after searching for hours. I think what happened was my buddy didn't read the instructions and just grounded the black wires to the frame instead of putting one of the wires up to the battery. I'm gonna try that next, hopefully that works.

there should only be 1 ground coming off the harness...the 3 pronged plug does not plug into any ECU? it plugs directly into the plug the OEM lamp plugged into. did the plug seat all the way into the other (3 pronged plug)?
i had to zip tie mine together since it wouldn't completely plug together.

1. connect - wire from HID harness to battery
2. make sure 3 pronged plug is fully seated/connected
3. check the fuse in the HID harness

Well I finally got it figured out. The one wire that I had grounded needed to go to the negative side of the battery. However, that wire is not very long at all. Turns out I think I have one bad ballast and maybe one bad bulb. So far, I don't have anything good to say about this kit.

call them, it may take forever to get someone on the phone but they will answer. go to the warrant department and tell them whats going on. if rep does not/will not help you demand the supervisor. dont go nutz on them or they wont help you. be nice.

makes me wonder why there are so many other callers holding up the line for the warranty department!?

I installed a set of H13 Hi/Lo in the Girl Friends truck and had no issues at all. Grounded the black wire to the fender of the truck and just plugged everything in like it said and have had no issues at all with it. Its also a DDM kit.

This company has me pretty much set on not going with them after all the bad reviews as of late. From the one guy getting a bunch of used stuff with his kit to your post. I guess I'll hold off on ordering HID's for awhile.
