Default HID's flicker

Hey everyone I put hids on my truck a couple months ago and everytime I unlock my truck they both start flickering then one comes on and the other still flickers I turn my truck on and turn my lights on and there fine does anyone kno why they flicker when unlocking my truck?? Thanks for any help.

Did you disable your headlights from comming on when you unlock the truck? If not, you should, it will extend the life of the bulbs. Directions are in your manuel.

No I haven't done that would jus the headlights not come on or all the lights? Thanks for the help.

Yeah, there is a headlight disable function that still lets your other lights come on when you unlock, just keeps the headlights from doing it. The balists on the HID's need 25 seconds or so to warm up. That is what is causing the flicker. I did it to my truck. It is supposed to be way better on your bulbs.

Thanks a lot ill have to find the thread on here guy I bought my truck off of original owner couldn't find the manual.

cheap ballasts. Retrofit some infinity/nissan to the truck. Did that with my saleen and never had an issue, otherwise I was replacing the chinese ones every month!

Also, youll need to run relays and dedicated grounds.

I'm gonna replace the whole kit later on to highs and lows good brand but for now jus turned off the lights when I unlock. Thanks for the help tho.
