So I talked to Bill today at PHP. He said my custom tunes that I have already will be good for a long tube header install.
My custom tunes on my Edge CS are already for my:
Volant CAI
Rear cat delete
Dual exhaust

He said when he rights tunes that factor in for exhaust, they are ready to go for long tubes as well. Should I get a lean code after the LT install, then he will likely just richen up the tune a bit more. He said its not likely that I will run into a lean condition with the OBX or pacesetter LT's.

I think I might be pulling the trigger on the OBX's really soon. I'm gonna hack up the Y pipe and resonators and weld on some high flow cats long before I bolt the headers on. This way I'm not mousing around on that dreaded LT header install day.. I plan on painting my welds every year with header paint, and I'm probably gonna paint the headers and studs every year too. To prevent rust!

Long tube headers, y pipe, a 27" turbo muffler and XBRP cat back. It's presentable now in terms of noise. With the blower, the exhaust was trailer trash loud.

ok since i dont have the patience to spend 18 hours installing long tube headers and know I cant afford to pay a shop to spend 18 hours installing headers I am thinking short or mid tube headers high flow cats and x pipe true duals. Any thoughts?

Go to an exhaust shop have them price out deleting your resinators and fabbing up an pipe to and cat back duals. While you're at it, have them inspect your cats, and if they're bad, get'em replaced with high flows.

The stock mainafolds flow decent, not as good as full lenght headers, but I don't think you'll feel good gains from mid-tubes (IMHO) Elliminating the resenators and adding a custom cat back (with mufflers) will help and (equivilent to mid tubes), with sound, maybea slight HP gain, and slightly better gas mileage, but not much more.

If you want to play, you have to pay. Headers is the way to go (custom tune imparative), but $ for $ it's an expensive mod.
