The stock mainafolds flow decent, not as good as full lenght headers, but I don't think you'll feel good gains from mid-tubes (IMHO) Elliminating the resenators and adding a custom cat back (with mufflers) will help and (equivilent to mid tubes), with sound, maybea slight HP gain, and slightly better gas mileage, but not much more.

If you want to play, you have to pay. Headers is the way to go (custom tune imparative), but $ for $ it's an expensive mod.
Indications of his responces prior in this thread illustrate he is currently stock on his exhaust system...

If he has a factory exhaust system there are no resonators to remove.

Other than sound, there are no gains to be had by modifying the stock exhaust. Only gains will come from going to long tubes.

So let's please not hand out inaccurate advice

moddular engines arn't exhaust bias like the LS engines are. getting rid of the cats and a good free flowing muffler like a magnaflow with 2 1/2 inch piping is all you need.

See here.

There's resonators after the cats see diagram in above post (same as what was on my truck)...unless they are something else they're called (I've always know them to be resonators). I might be wrong the terminology (parts wise), but hey I had my exhaust, including long tubes professionally installed. Here's the best pics I could take of the exhaust. In terms of gains on what I suggested, they can be had but are minimal (like 5hp).

Two sets, it is. I have only 1 set now and they are high flows.

Yup its 2 sets. http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic...irectfit=51744

I've "deleted" my rears with no CEL issues too.. They can be confused as resonators since they are not being metered for efficiency. But they are in fact "extra" redundant cats. Getting rid of them will definitely help exhaust flow.

How are you liking those long tubes TwoTrick? Do they sound good?
We're the gains substantial? Or at least very noticeable at the seat of your pants?
When coming off of idle are you feeling a bit more torque?
Are those pacesetters on 5.4 3V?
Did you reuse your factory studs?

I'm buying LT's soon, probably OBX's since they are stainless. Not a great stainless, but better then aluminized steel.

Any input or tips is appreciated...
