The offset in the AS moves the strut slightly foward so it doesnt contact the upper control arm during full downward deflection.

Has anyone had any issues with contact or damage ? Just wondering how important this is.

Personal preference. I have the 3" HBS. No issues at all. Autosprings can say what they want, but I have seen their s installed. Looks like the strut is in the exact place as mine with the HBS. Just a marketing ploy in my opinion.

Never makes contact. And I have the 3" that people are so scared of doing. And I have had no premature wear on any parts.
