Default Hard Pine sap

I was going to wax my truck last night, and noticed that I have quite a bit of hard pine sap on the paint. What are some good ways to remove it? Thanks

I think turtle wax makes a bug, tar and tree sap remover. Also heard that baking soda/water mixture will take it off.

Bug and tar removers are going to be the best, you might need to soak a towel and let it sit on those spots to get it to soften up. Should be able to work it with your finger nail then use clay bar to clean up the rest.

A solvent like carb cleaner can work too. I have used this from time to time in very limited use cases.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I knew I had some larger spots, but didn't know the severity of how many pin head sized spots there were. I'll see if anyone else has any suggestions before I decide to tackle this job.

Any solvent (WD-40 is really solvent based.. it's a cleaner, not an oil) will eat wax... so if you're planning on removing all those little pine drips, claying the truck, polishing it, then re-waxing it, go for it. But the clay will leave lots of scratches which polishing removes, and both will remove any semblance of wax...

I was at least planning on washing it with dish soap to remove wax, and rewax, so that isn't a big deal. It really wouldn't hurt to clay bar, polish and wax.

Clay bar!! Then after re wax......

Clay bar removes ALL contaminates and all wax build up. After your done put one nice coat of 'LIQUID GLASS" on it. Let truck bake in sun for two hours. You'll have a new truck.

When applying the liquid glass only apply in one direction no swirls. When taking it off you can use swirl motion.

Won't dish soap eat clear coat?
