Fuel pump / electrical problems
Hello,.
Recently my truck left me on the side of the road, replaced battery, ran for a day and left me down again, replaced fuel filter and it ran for 4 days. Then thinking that that was the problem, i did a little tune up replacing all coil packs and spark plugs, and cleaned air filter. then let me down the next day...go figure lol.
The fuel pump is not priming at all, runs fine on starter fluid. i checked the FPDM, it looked fine, i replaced it anyway though and still wouldent work,
just noticed a clicking sound from the accessory delay relay, when the key is turned foward, then when turned back. replaced and it still clicks. (no click or start when removed)
Could this be a bad ground, or wire shorting out? or fuel pump may have just given out on me?
(i have noticed water puddling in passenger side floor board)
This is a 2005 f150 lariat 2wd 5.4l
Thanks for any help in advance!

did you want to troubleshoot or throw parts at it ?? do you own or can barrow a multi meter... turn the key on to run and read 12VDC at the FPDM input.. then read the out put side.. or you can just replace your fuel pump.
Ive just heard a lot of people having trouble with them and figured it wouldent be a bad idea to replace it while i was down there.
I do have a multimeter and will check once i got home, and reply with what i found, ive never had to mess with electrical stuff on a vehicle so my knowledge on it isent too large
Thanks

I had a similar issue with a vehicle before. Turned out it was the fuel pump. Get a good brand, I didn't and ended up going through 3 new pumps in just over a month till a got a good brand instead of the cheap one. After that, good to go for over a year till I sold the car.

There's also a safety cutoff switch located at the passenger side foot well (fuse box location). It's normal function is to kill voltage to the FPDM/fuel pump when in a rollover or severe accident. It has a reset button. Perhaps this is the cause of a no voltage situation to the fuel pump.

I had already reset the inertia switch, I'm guessing these could go bad too though? I pulled the fuse panel due to the water problem and pulled it apart and everything looked really good no corosion or anything of that nature. The inertia switch on the other hand looked a little messy like it had been introduced to water, anyway to check it?
