Default F150 screeching

Hello, my F150 seems to be having a perfect storm of problems. Most of them i know what they are and am in the process of getting them fixed.

My truck is a 2006 F150 King Ranch 5.4 with 160k on it.

The problem i'm trying to figure out is the screeching noise i'm getting. It started about 3 weeks ago and only would do it around 40-45 MPH and only when i let off the gas. Over the 3 weeks it has gotten worse and now will screech while i let of the gas and when i accelerate. When I really get on the gas it is VERY loud. I am trying to figure out what is causing it.

My truck has the 5.4 tick and am going to tackle that later, could they be related?

I have changed the belt and idler pulley with no change. before i start changing more parts I would like to figure out what is causing it.

Here is a link to a video of the noise.

Default Just guessing as that is one noisy truck-- no offense

I would worry that it is chain eating the timing cover or worse the parts of the guides are tearing up crankshaft reluctor . Any way that goes with the timing job .
Best bet is to drop oil pan and look for pieces of broken guides and see if aluminum shavings in there from timing cover . Be prepared to clean oil pickup tube on oil pump it can be full of stuff restricting oil flow . Gasket is reuseable . But you must use new sealant in joints on surface .
Of course it may be other things also . This is a necessary step anyway .

Default There is the belt tensioner pulley and 2 idlers , alternator pulley

Belt Tensioners are common failure .
Put your full truck description in your profile ,4wd , engine, mods etc . It helps sometimes .
Then there is your power steering pump pulley and bearing .
Take your fan off and belt and spin them .

Thank you for the response. Ill update the profile and check the pulleys first.

I pulled the belt and spun all of the pulleys, everything seemed ok so i started to remove the oil pan... a few questions.

Do i need to remove the front drive shaft and drop the front differential? or can i simply remove the four bolts on the passenger side of the front diff and drop that to remove the oil pan? also do i need to remove the rack and pinion?

No need to remove the rack. This is how I do it: Remove the crossmember under the pan...Remove the passenger side mounting bolt from the differential and pry it downward for clearance. It will want to 'spring" back up because of the driver's side mount... Drop the sway bar mounts (4 bolts) leaving it attached to the end links, let it swing down...remove the pan.

Default I have RWD so I can't speak for 4x4

I have seen many posts about dropping the pan on yours .I think it involves the steering, not all that you are thinking . Someone with that experience will answer you .
Good luck with your fix .

Hey, I'm not that old!!!

To the OP. did you run the engine (briefly) without the belt on to see if the noise went away or does the truck need to be moving also? I watched your vid. That is a gawd awful noise for sure. Just trying to narrow it down...Could be driveline related or possibly even the alternator?...

I didn't run it without the belt. The noise only happens when it's moving. I've only heard it once idling and that was after a long drive. Alternator bearing seemed fine. I pulled that a few days ago
