They say it isn't available for my '06 Flareside?!
Aside from being more narrow, what's the difference on a Flareside tailgate?

I purchased the old version and noticed that the spring rubs the safety cable to the point that the protective cover of the safety cable now has a tear. WTH? I too have the problem with the bolt that attaches to the gate becomes loose after opening and closing the gate a few times. No bueno

I've had the ez down for a few months, I think its great. If you think it's to slow, you can push it down as fast as you want with hardly any resistance. Without question this should have been a factory item years ago.

But does it close as easily? Or do you have to pull up on the tailgate until it latches?

It doesn't have any resistance or assistance on closing, so it pretty closes the same.

If anything it gives the tailgate a quality feel. It closes with no resistance. There's no argument not to have one.

Those of you that have this, what difference is there in putting it back up?
I Dunno but I think some trucks use a system like this as a standard feature.... I think my brother in laws Titan does?....
