Default Engine swap

I have a 2005 f150 5.4 and I’m wanting to know if the engine will be a direct swap with a 07 5.4 that is flex fuel. If so what would have to be changed

I assume you mean Flex fuel, it would be a direct swap.

Yes. Sorry I didn’t see the misspelling. Is there anything I would have to change to make it run and drive

Its my understanding is that the flex fuel is dealt with in the engine. The catalytic converters are the same for either engine so there is no other parts that would deal with the flex fuel.

There are component differences with the Flex Fuel models. Flex Fuel, with higher ethanol, is more corrosive. The computer is also programmed to make changes to timing and spark, based on the level of ethanol in the fuel. Because in most cases, nobody has straight E85 or regular fuel. Most of the time, it's a mixture.
