im new to the forum, but a ford guy all the way, I run a diesel shop in east tn, 95% of my work is super duty, I bought a 07 f150 for my son it has engine issues so Ive decided to just replace it instead of trying to repair.
Ive found an engine with decent mileage at a local super duty dismantlers, it is a 5.4 out of an 05 f250, my sons truck is a 07 5.4 flex fuel.
ive searched with my engine part suppliers and have seen no differences with things like cam, intake, and spark plugs on the 07 engines ffv v/s non flex, I cannot find enough info to feel safe about the 05 to 07 swap tho.
anyone have any insight into this ?
what will be involved if I can swap them ?
how bout the transmission being able to couple with the older engine
ecu ?
