Quick update. Engine arrived and looks good, has all parts Fraser said it would. Turns out the truck needs a new main battery harness and intake manifold that was cracked and beat up. So waiting on those parts to come in now, but everything else is going smoothly. I wish I was able to get to it and take a look myself, but I fully trust the shop doing the work
All repairs completed earlier this week. Engine, intake manifold, battery cable, and new tires. Cost just under $6000 including labor. I won't be able to pick it up for a week or 2 but will get some pictures when I can.
Just bought a used 06 King Ranch with the 5.4L and driving it today the engine knocked itself to death. I'm looking for some suggestions on where to get a replacement engine. I am in a tight spot financially since I am rebuilding my life at the moment, but I want something that will last me. Any input is appreciated. Thank you.
Curious how the engine was preforming before she went blammo? Was it just out of the blue or did you expect it?
I was expecting it, just wished i had longer before it happened so i coyld have saved up for the expenses. Intermitent low oil pressure at idle, and some noise from the timing chain area. I only had the truck a few days before it happened, but the guy i got it from said that had been going on a while.

Finally got to drive the truck yesterday and everything worked correctly and it drove well. Going to do an oil change within the first 1,000 miles per recommendations and keep the rpms varied while driving for a while to help with the break in. Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help.
