Default Engine Removal

So my engine just blew yesterday due to a leaky injector. Heard a knocking noise drove it to the shop and right as I pulled into the garage I heard a pop which I believe was the timing chain.

Anyway, I want to pull the engine and swap in another one but can't seem to find any info on how to go about doing this. Doesn't look to be to hard....just time consuming. Is it possible to pull the engine with the trans attached? I am assuming my 2 ton engine lift should be enough for this engine. What kind of stand does everyone use for this? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

I have done this a bunch of times on small cars but this is my time time on a truck.

Is it a 05? Ford extended the warranty due to injector issues causing major failure in the engines. I would look into that first before you pull the engine.

Maybe another member could enlighten you, but I believe certain years may get warranty coverage due to faulty injectors. Check into it before undertaking the project.

It is an 2006 and the Dealer told me no......is there somewhere else I can call? It has 80k on it currently. On top of it I replaced the injectors thinking I got to it in time.

If you plan on swapping out your motor check out www.highperformancemotors.com the prices are actually very reasonable when compared to getting an O.E. replacement crate engine and you can get complete kits and transmissions from them as well.

Doesn't hurt to have options
