On most cars I don't, but if the engine has the plugs in a vertical well like these do they can fill up with water and make starting very difficult.

How clean mine was was a big selling point. The dealership put a lot of time into cleaning it.

I'd hope it adds a little value, I spent probably 40-45 hours detailing this when I bought it. The poor mustang has had to sit outside since the truck is so clean now, but I think I'm going to hit it with a full detail this weekend too

Sprayed mine off the other day. Went driving about an hour later and threw a code, P0304. Misfire on cylinder #4. Engine stutter, worse when a/c is on, and I can smell gas burning. Then engine light started blinking. Immediately took my baby home & now I think it's the coil on 4. All the way in the back. I'm screwed. When I get her running again to hell with cleaning the engine.

All the powerstroke guys used to swear that if you washed the engine bay on a 6.4 that it would immediately ruin all your electronics and the world would end. However i washed my engine bay every time i washed my truck with no issues what so ever. Like mentioned above as long as you do not hold full pressure directly on your computer or coil packs you will be fine. I personally on the top of the motor do not use the pressure, just spray simple green and let the spray wand mist and have not had any issues.

Yeah that's why I don't want to risk it.

Sounds like that plug is loose (gas smell), the coil is not sealing properly in the plug well, or the coil is going bad altogether. Either way you would have had to deal with this issue soon enough, the engine cleaning just brought it to your attention. This is not an issue that was caused by your cleaning procedure.
