Well guys I am coming from a 7.3 and my chip on that truck netted me something like 150hp with supporting mods. I'm debating whether or not to go with an edge. Its just hard for me to justify to see what, like 30hp? Whats y'alls opinions?

30 hp is better than nothing, plus it will improve overall daily driving. It will immediately eliminate any lag when shifting from one gear to the next, this has been reported many times. Used ones are $250 or lower.

That is what i came up with from the link you provided. Is there any reason why it still would be off by 4-5mph? That does not seem right to me. I'm using a GPS to compare speeds.

You will never net anything close to what you can with a Diesel motor...

Yeah I just need to change my expectations. I definitely miss the torque for the 7.3 but the ride quality and quietness definitely make up for it.

I got right around 1.5-2 MPG gain. Add in my tonneau cover and I'm at MAYBE 2.5.

Tonneau's may lower the MPG rather than increase it. Truck engineers got it right by allowing the air flow to circulate back towards the cab after it goes over the roof. The Tonneau cover defeats this; may even drop MPG.

I have one on my truck as well; my Edge instant MPG did not show a drop or increase with it installed though.
