Edge Programmer evolution II

Default Edge Programmer evolution II

Good morning,
Can anyone tell me if there is anything I can do to get my Edge Evolution II programmer updated so I can use it? I called Edge Products and they can't update it and offered me a 20% or 25% discount on a new programmer. I'd rather not spend the dough on a new programmer. Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade it on another site or am I just screwed out of the programmer? TIA

I assume you mean that it is VIN locked to a previous vehicle? If so, think you are out of luck, unless, you have access to previous vehicle and can return that one to “stock”, which would then unlock your edge.

No it's cleared from previous owner. It needs to have a software update but Edge only goes back to the Evolution III

Ok I’m confused, if it’s not vin locked, and if your year make and model fits within the model of edge, what is the problem? What does it need an update for ?

I have never seen/heard of that error (but I’m not any expert, have just used their products on multiple vehicles).

What is year make model model of truck?

what model is the edge and what years/models was it designed for?

My truck is a 2004. And on the box it says it’s for a 2004-2008 F150

That is strange then that it doesn’t work. Edge used to have excellent customer service, technical knowledge and the ability/willingness to help. I’ve noticed that more recently the people to answer phones don’t really know the products very well and they will not allow direct access to talk to the people that really know the products/software. I wish you luck, I’d recommend trying calling a few different times to try to get different reps and try to get a specific reason that this unit isn’t working for you. If you get that, please post up as I think it might help others.
