I got the edge for two reasons and two reasons only. My 33inch tire speedo correction and to remove that pesky speed limiter lol.

Now with that said.. fuel economy was the last thing on my mind when I got this programmer. It has a so called "extreme" where you need 91 octane gas only and at start up it puffs black smoke due to rich condition. I have the 4.6 v8 tho.

It was a bit more fun to drive however I believe that rich condition caused my catalitic converter to fail. Once in a while I saw black smoke at start up when programming from stock to 91 octane. They say on the 4.6 you dont get much of a difference.

Not anymore... The updates on the CS and CTS were conflicting with the tune.. If we update our programmer there is a strong chance it will damage the custom tune and PHP won't be able to fix it..

EDGE could modify their programming so that it wouldn't interfere with custom tunes but they'd rather loose money instead while SCT sales sky rocket

i know the tow setting says you can use 87 octane but i see enough of a boost in mpg's (.5-1 mpg) running 89 that it's slightly (very very slightly) cheaper to run 89.

I have been running mine for a week now. I saw no change in mpg with the 87 tow. It was a bit more fun to drive, however, no increase in MPG - 12.6
-average on the PID was showing 15.7

I switched to the 93 performance tune that comes with the programer and noticed bigger gains in power as well as an increase in MPG. after a little over half a tank i saw 16.9 hand calculated. The average was on the PID was showing 16.5.

How fast do you want to go with a pick up truck?

Stock the speed limiter is pretty high.

my speed limiter limits my speed at 100. I'm not condoning breaking the law. But I would like to see just how fast this motor will take me on a closed course.
