Default Edge evolution problem???

So, I've seen some similar posts, but nothing that has helped yet. Maybe since some time has passed, someone will know what to do. I have an '07 F-150 V-8 4.6 with 3.73 gears, and an 8 inch lift with 35's. Also, have a flowmaster exhaust and the edge evolution. So, the problem is when it's cold in the morning. I start the truck, let it warm up and start driving. Once I get to the end of the street and turn and start to pick up speed it totally starts to lag and the wrench light comes on. I have simply found that turning the truck off and then right back on fixes the problem, and it only does it once a day. The error code given is P061, which is unknown? I called edge last year when it was doing this and they told me to update it, so I did, and it didn't fix it. What did fix it was putting Plus gas instead of regular. Now, the problem is back again. I'm getting to the point that I just want to take off the damn tuner. The only reason I got it was to adjust the shifting. It's always on level one, and don't really plan on amping it up to level 3, maybe 2 for towing. Anyways, if anyone can help, I would much appreciate it. Thanks guys! (and gals!)

Question

Whoa, that's weird...
The only thing I can think of is that the tuner is broken and is shifting to level 3 even though you tell it level 1.

This is just a guess and you've probably already done this but have you tried removing the tuner and then removing the battery cable for a while to reset everything and then reinstalling the tuner? I don't know if this would really do anything though. Just guessing from here.

P061 is not a complete code. Here are the P codes that might fit the pattern:

P0161 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
P0261 Injector Circuit Low - Cylinder #1
P0601 Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error

I would post this on PHP's forum. http://forum.gopowerhungry.com/

I do know that the Edge will do very strange things when the voltage drops (search on PHP's forums for more information). How old is the battery and have you had it load tested?

I know it doesn't seem like a complete code, but that's what it gives me. I've even talked to people at edge, and they don't know what it is. All they can tell me is to update it... Which hasn't been much help. Thanks for the other forum, I'll have to try it when I get home. Damn security blockers at work won't let me go to that website.

Yea it seems like something like that would cause weird issues like that, I would trace your steps.

here is just a side question about the edge. if the programmer is plugged in and you unhook the battery does that do anything to affect the edge unit?

I can't think of any reason it would be any different than turning the key off.
