My best experiences have been with 93 octane on lvl 3 with +1.00 timing and 93 octane on level 2 with +3.00 timing. The lvl 3 tune had a lot more power higher in the rev range which really helps on the interstate and gave me slightly better fuel economy on the highway. The lvl 2 tune has a lot better low end torque that I noticed in the city (Below ~2000 rpms, after that the lvl 3 tune was better)

Currently I am using one I found on another site.

#2
WOT Fuel: 1.35 (That is what Edge rec.)
WOT Shift: 1-2:5k, 2-3:5k, 3-4:4400
Rev Limit: 5500
Max RPM: 5500
Shift Firmness: 1-2:12, 2-3:12, 3-4:9
then input for tire size.

The stall issue is gone when accelerating from a stop, however I do still have the shudder when cruising. Only sometimes though, if I keep a small bit of constant throttle it's fine, it's when I release it then press it lightly again that it shudders, but with OD off its fine. hmm.

Another thing I have noticed is when I hit bumps it does the shuddering, but my rpms don't change and it's not all bumps, just ones large enough to shake the truck a bit. I was thinking the fuel controller but it does do it when the truck is stock..

Late response but, it is likely the Torque Converter lock points. Bump both lock and unluck up by 1 until it stops.

You might have a COP going out or a bad spark plug also. That makes it feel like the trans is shuddering

Default custom evo tune 4.6L 2005 F150

I know im a little late to the party but I just wanted to share my custom tune and get feedback on it if you people are still alive. Needless to say im still pretty new to tuning because i just got my edge yesterday...

First, here is what im driving and the mods I've done to it.

2005 XLT 4.6L Single Cab short-bed 3.73 RD (i think?) 103,000 miles / I run only motorcraft synth engine oil

2" drop shackles on the rear. (this smoothed out the bumpy / springy ride)
18" MB Vapor rims
Kumho 285-60-18
K&N Drop in AF
Gotts Mod
removed the silencer behind the MAF
Dumped 14" Magnaflow cat-back
Edge Evo Programmer

I know this is not a mod but i cleaned out the throttle body with B12 and cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner a couple weeks ago. IT made my truck run much smoother.

Things i might do:
Dual Electric Fan mod with 2 controllers
Underdrive pullies

So heres my custom Lvl 3 tune:
93 Octane
WOT Shift 1-2: 5100 2-3: 5100 3-4: 5000
WOT Fuel: 1.6
Timing: 2.25
Shift Firmness: 1-2: 12 ,,, 2-3:12 ,,, 3-4:10
Rev Limiter: 5600
Conv Lock point: 3rd: -4 ,,, 4th: -6
Tire Size: 2507 (I set it as 2504 but it keeps changing for some reason)
Gear 3.73

I did all of these changes over the past week and I am amazed at how much this trucks handling changed.

I know im probably pushing it with the 2.25 timing but it is running strong with no detonation all the way up to 5100 rpm. It may be because of good gas. (shell) I use shell or chevron ONLY. Chevron gives me the best fuel economy.

This truck used to barelly even be able to power break, and was NEVER able to spin the tires off the line unless i was going uphill and on a turn lol... now it breaks loose if i mash the peddle with no break and lays a foot of rubber when i hit 2nd (WOT).

I havent tried the 0-60 or 1/4 mile cause lets be honest my truck is still slow haha. but it sounds like a monster truck when i take off and is much more peppy. the responce has improved 10 fold downshifts are immediate and the fuel economy is def higher than it used to be, if the IMPG / AMPG is accurate of course.... around 16 city and 27 hwy @ 60mph

Here are my questions:

1. what can i do to improve my acceleration without detonation in lvl 3?
(suggestions like additional mods, tune settings i overlooked or didnt set properly, etc...)

2. My rear diff has a metal tag on it that says 3m13. but im not sure thats accurate... Did Ford even put a 3.13 rear in f150s that year? one reason i dont think its a 3.13 is because if i set the gear ratio custom setting to 3.13 my speedo is off by something crazy like 15-20 mph. I mean i was going "90" on the freeway this morning and people were passing me lol.

I played with it a little over lunch and set it back to 3.73 and the speedo is back where it is suppose to be. well +1-3mph off Vs a GPS measurement. Thats better than 20 i suppose.... SO Why would my rear end say 3.13 if it seems to be 3.73 according to the speedo... FYI at 60 MPH my rpms are at about 1650. which kind of makes me think its not a 3.73.... IM SO CONFUSED!!! Enlighten me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

btw the axle / rear end was replaced a few years ago and the guy said he put in the same rear end as was in it. Ive known the guy since i was born so i know he wouldnt lie. i did however ask if he could put a higher ratio rear end in it so i dunno whats going on...

sorry for the novel.

Here is mine.

So here's my custom Lvl 2 tune:

87 Octane
WOT Shift 1-2: 5000 2-3: 4900 3-4: 4800
WOT Fuel: 1.35
Shift Firmness: 1-2: 16 ,,, 2-3:18 ,,, 3-4:18
Rev Limiter: 5000
Tire Size: 2775
Gear 3.73

What does the convertor adjustment do?

&lt;br /&gt;<br />
Converter adjustment if you adjust lock change only 3 and 4. To change the mph that the gears switch to while driving normally. If you switch from 3rd to fourth at 47mph and you want it to switch to 4th around 45 put your lock 4 at -2 lowering them can help save gas depending on your driving style. If you tow is a different story. I have mine at at 3 lock: -4 and 4 lock: -6 in performance mode. See if -2, -4 works for you in lvl 2
