Ok... I got my plugs changed, KN CAI installed, and the Edge put in. After reading this entire thread, it seems that everyone is running at level 2 (towing) all the time. How does this setting work with MPG without towing anything. And can someone post what they are set on if you have this same setup....

2005 Super Crew with the 5.4. truck is leveled and running 325/65/18 tires.

Keep in mind I am not vehicle savy. The only thing I do with vehicles is drive em and put the out when they burn....

I advanced the timing bc of 93 octane, and on the CTS I cant modify it to say I have a greater exhaust output. I know with PHP or Gryphen I think they take that into account when they build your custom tunes. If I knew what they did in order to account for that, I cound make the adjustment myself

ya, lvl 2 is more aggressive and good on MPG. You can keep it on LVL 1, but when I got my exhaust done, I put it on 2 and I felt a difference. I guess the canned settings they put into LVL2 make the vehicle more responsive. And no, you dont need to be towing anything to keep this in LVL 2. I posted mine on the prev. page if you want to try those. The tunes depend on your driving and how your vehicle responds. Start small: Adjust your tires and gears (you must do this). If it says stock under gears, click on it anyway and verify that those are the gears you have. Wouldnt worry about lock and unlock. If you run 93 octane you can advance your time if you want, maybe .5 to start. You can adjust your WOT if you want but this only takes into account if you mash the accelerator when passing or racing for instance. In regular driving WOT is not a big factor

Anybody running any good setups tuned more for GAS MILEAGE than performance? The level 1 trans tune is making me loose gas mileage and i dont really need the extra gear holding. Ive got 35"s but i still dont need any extra performance. Im getting around 10mpgs with short in town winter trips

One thing that will help is turning your 4th gear TC Lock down. Put it in a negative range say between -4 or -6.

This will allow your torque converter to lock sooner so you are running as low of an rpm as possible in town. This will also reduce heat build up in the transmission in town when you have it lock up quicker.

However what you say you are averaging in town sounds about as normal/good as it gets from what I have read of others on the forum with 35s.

I live in a very traffic heavy, and stop light heavy city now, and with 33s I average just shy of 13 city mpg. That last town I lived in had about 6 traffic lights total and I could get 16 mpg city since I could just stroll through town at 35mph at 1k rpm without being stopped.

Def needed this info. I get that nice deep drone inbtween gears like it wants to shift, but if I let off it quiets down at around 60mph
