I am sure like my old 2stroke 150 Yamaha outboard, it is tolerable for our blocks for short bursts, but more than a second or two would be harmful

How harmful and with so many guys running the edge evo programmer someone must have tried to run the rpm higher up in the range of around 6000 rpm. Just wondering what kind of results they were getting and happened damage wise.

If you want to put it at 8000rpm your head and Intake manifold likely wouldn't be able to flow the air necessary to support that RPM range. As for what parts would fail, the valve train would have to be the most vulnerable I would guess and then Oil Pump might just barely be able to keep enough pressure for that RPM as well so your bottom end is also at risk.

I set mine at 8k and got my wife to film it as I drove by. This is what happened when I hit 8k RPM.
