You can disconnect it at any time except while tuning/programming. The tune will stay on your truck and you will not be able to use the tuner on any other truck.

The screen is just for the monitoring aspect. The tune is loaded into the PCM

Play around with the firmness and see if going down a couple will change it for the better. You gotta wait like 2 days each time you change something to give your ECU time to adapt but I'd say bump it down 2 or so and see how it shifts for a few days. If nothing changes then put it back to where it was.

If I'm remember correctly the 0 is just the firmness the tune is set to. It isn't stock firmness. If you have a custom tune It's just the recommended firmness for your truck set by who wrote your tune if that makes sense. I could be wrong though, I haven't read up on that stuff in a while.

It will be different for everybody. From what I remember reading there were over 300 different transmission programs from the factory for the 04-08 body style.
