Default eBay+local locksmith=Win!

I bought an 07 FX4 Screw 2 weeks ago and the previous owner only had 1 key and remote for it. I didn't realize how big of a deal it was until I started hearing how expensive the keys and programming were from a dealer!

I knew better than to go through the dealer, so I went on eBay and got a brand new remote fob plus 2 transponder keys that will start the truck for $15 shipped. I then took the truck and keys to a local locksmith who cut and programmed the keys and remote for $20.

So for a grand total of $35 I got an extra remote and 2 transponder keys all brand new, cut and programmed!

If anyone is sitting on 1 key and doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for extras, I highly recommend going this route.

Thats an awesome deal! I'm in the same boat, just purchased two keys and an additional remote from ebay. Did you use a chain store locksmith, or an independent shop? Guess I need to start making phone calls and see who can get it done the cheapest.

I used an independent local shop, I think you have the right idea, call around and see who does it and find a good price.

Is it possible to to program a remote without having even 1 remote? I was in the same situation where it came with one key, but made them give me an extra key as part of the deal. But literally a key and no remote, and the original key also has no remote

I only got one key and remote!!! This is news to me! I have been looking around and it would be somewhere between $100-$200 for new keys/remotes. I'll have to start looking into this

Here is the one I bought off ebay, free shipping. I'll call around this weekend and see who has the best deal for programming.

I am in the same boat and have been looking into this. Has anybody tried the all-in-one key/fob that are on ebay?
