cold starter

Default cold starter

I have a 2008 f 150 when its cold the starter wants to runon is that a common problem

Guessing he means the starter doesn't stop when the key is backed out of "Start"... just a guess... if that's the case, I'd replace the starter solenoid

you don't have to hold the key in the start position.. just bump it to start and let go.. it will crank till it starts.

On new cars, yeah. Not the case on my 04..

Ford changed that somewhere in '06-'07.

Gotta be honest, I like have control over it. One is every 500 starts grinds my flex plate, really glad I can let off the key and avoid (more) damage.

He has an 08 like mine... I assume it works the same.. If you run into a problem while starting just turn the key off.

I don't think my 07 is that way. I'll have to try it and see though.
