Default CEL

took my truck to Advance Auto to see the code on CEL... turns out it is either a clogged catalytic converter or o2 sensor... anyway I can check either?

If it's P0420 catalyst inefficiency, read up on this.

Again, assuming its P0420....If it's not, please let us know!!

A code P0420 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: Leaded fuel was used where unleaded was called for A damaged or failed oxygen sensor (HO2S) Downstream oxygen sensor (HO2S) wiring damaged or connected improperly The engine coolant temperature sensor is not working properly Damaged or leaking exhaust manifold / catalytic converter / muffler / exhaust pipe Retarded spark timing The oxygen sensors in front and behind the converter are reporting too similar of readings Leaking fuel injector or high fuel pressure Cylinder misfire Oil contamination

well, unfortunately I didn't look at the code number, the guy just told me that it was either a bad o2 sensor or catalytic converter... he did say if it was the sensor then it would be one of the ones after the catalytic converter...

Not much love on this forum for the Accels. This weekend actually I'm supposed to go work on a girl's SUV to replace the Accels I put in there two weeks ago because they've already died.

A code number could really help out here. If the light's still on, get it read again and get the code
