I've never heard of rubber corroding, and most, if not all of the vacuum fittings on my 07 are plastic. A vacuum gauge will tell you a lot about how your motor is running, and if you have a leak. Buying a Haynes manual will tell you what to look for. $25 at part source.

Id def check like i said before buddy had one doesn't hurt either if you don't now you can elemiate that from the list. I agree a gage will work great. If they have one with long enough hose to rout into the cab to be able to read a difference in dynamic or static

Oh wow after doing research I found way cheaper cats. Why are ford cats 1000 a piece and magna flows are 75? Are they ****ty? And does a cat fitting NEED to be welded. Or do you think the pressure is low enough for bolt on splices
