Default Cam Phaser Issue

So bought replacement phasers and cracked open valve cover to replace them and this is what I found. What am I missing here.?
Original one on truck.
Replacement phaser.

Uh, what year and motor is in your truck? That top picture is not a 04-08 5.4 3valve....

Disregard my previous post, not sure what I was thinking. That doesnt look like a cam-phaser to me.

Please don't do that. Return it. That's not an OEM Phaser and we spend all our time on this forum trying to get members to not to use aftermarket timing stuff.


Edit: After thought. BTW, what was the symptom on that engine that prompted you to order phasers?

Call Livernois. They got a kit that they say fixes all the problems with phasers.

Im looking at LOTS of varnish and what appears to be a poorly maintained engine! We do need more information about whats going on here.

F150s with 4.6s in this generation DO NOT have cam phasers. Return product for a refund.
