Default Battery Issues

Hey everyone, I've been having some issues with my battery!! My truck has 2 light bars, rock lights underneath and leds in the interior and if I put even just the rock lights on at a show, my battery will be dead in 10 minutes. Would I need to change my battery to something bigger or maybe a bigger alternator? Need some opinions on this! Also my battery even has problems starting my truck sometimes! The battery is only a year or so old. Any help is appreciated

Sounds like you have a bad battery. Have you had it checked?

I had my battery checked but the guy said everything came out normal... Little strange how it just randomly dies though. I have been looking around and finding battery boxes that hide under the truck so I can add another one. Anyone have any recommendations for batteries to throw for accessories and also for start up?

How old is the battery? Your 110 amp stock alternator is fine for what you have installed (accessories), so no worries there. I suspect the battery is getting old, or was replaced earlier in the trucks life with a lower amp rating.
Many folks go the route of replacing their battery when its time with a lower cold cranking amp rating, to save money. This lower CCA battery will drain, charge, drain, charge over and over, and over time, the battery craps out before its normal lifetime.

I would recommend a deep cycle marine battery man, I have a 32" light bar in my bumper, rock lights, all lights swapped with LED's and H.I.D headlights, and my sound system is pumping out 2000 watts through 2 12's and I've never had a dying issue in 2 years. Even with all my lights on for hours while listening to music the whole time. my cold cranking amps are about 1200. Which is Way higher than a stock battery by about 400 amps. So it starts easier and never strains at all. Paid like 120 bucks for it at Walmart to actually put in my boat, my battery went bad so I threw it in there and now I'll never go back to a non deep cycle.

I have 2 deep cycle batteries laying around for my boat as well, you're saying you just swapped it out for your original battery and never had any issues?!

exactly what I'm saying man. Sounds too simple to be true right? But it's not. Not one issue, except when and if it dies, you have to drive around for quite a bit to get it charged again.

The only issue will be is if your alt is bad and not charging the Battery no matter what one you have..
