Default Anyone use this....

I'm looking to tint my F150 emblems and Ford ovals using Rust-Oleum's Lens Tint spray paint. Just curious if anyone has used this product to do them in the past? Any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciative.

Never used the rustoleum version. I have used VHT nightshades on 5 different vehicles and can say it works great if you prep right. Id like to trust the VHT better because it is made by Duplicolor paints.

I would recommend not using it for the Ford ovals, i tried it on my F250 and the paint didnt like bonding to it. Turned out very bubbly and wound up stripping the paint off it. If you get it to work please let me know. If you need pics of tail lights I have a few just let me know.

P.s. I would do the emblems in spray paint, I did my F250s that way. The nightshades doesnt like to bond to anything unless it is a hard plastic. Otherwise it runs easily.

ud probably have to sand the ford logos like the tails. that way it bonds into the scratches. nightshade works great for a lot of things. i used it on my alarm clock to dim it out lol

I tried the scuffing with sandpaper after the 1st try. The material over the top of the logo seemed to scratch up and blur out some so I just gave up. Im going to order overlays instead.

Who is making overlays for the truck emblems? I keep looking and everyone had to pull them for fear of Ford corporate coming down on them.

Om going to have my local graphics guy just do an oval matched to the color of my truck, then do the Ford script on a seperate decal and put it on top of the oval. Hes pretty good at taking care of all the graphics Ive brought him.
