Anyone use this....
Been wanting to do my emblems too. This is the product I'm thinking of trying. It is sold at local auto stores.

VERY interesting indeed, keep me informed if you do this.
i did my ford badges with nightshades. if you sand them do it really light because it will show the scratches really good.
here are the closest pics i have on my computer.

The spray works well, but the painter (paintee) needs to have a real good steady hand. My first set of tail-lights i tried to black-out, at night you could see some streaking, so make sure you are even on spraying and do one coat at a time depending on how dark you are wanting to get them. As for emblems, i used a black polyester like paint it looks great and gives them a sandpaper like roughness. the only dislike about the paint is that it can rub away if you really scrape at it (like using your nail or scrubing hard) but the color stays even and looks clean unlike spray where you could see the streaks or uneven sprays.
i used flat black krylon fusion spray paint on mine, and it came out pretty good. the texture it leaves matches my grille almost exactly. just taped off the whole logo, and then took a Xacto knife and cut around the FORD and the ovals
No i didnt clear them, I actually didnt even spray the badges. I took a circular micro fiber applicator pad, just sprayed in a spot on the pad and lightly wiped the badge. this way you can control the tint much more then just spraying it by building up layers of tint. Ive had it like that for 6 months now and it hasnt faded at all.
