Default IS anyone

Envious, Jealous, or otherwise..

Looking at the new F150's and thinking yeah I wish I had one..

I gotta admit I got the creature comforts sorted out in my 05 Lariat.

Do wish I had "cooled" seats but eh I have lived without them so far in life at soon to be 45 I think I can make it the rest of the way..

But I really don't think the V6 or the aluminum body is calling my name.. not that the Al is awful, I just am well not ready to dive in for it.
To me that belongs on a light weight sports car or something meant for high MPG's not a truck ( neanderthal grunt )

Anyway.. I am pleasantly happy with my 05 with 170K on him..

Just curious how the rest of us fair..

to be honest i don't want a new f150 unless i got a great deal on a raptor 802 without the moonroof. while i loved my 05, i do love my 14 more. and if he is totaled i would go raptor or f350. i like the new f150 but don't like that i can't get a direct replacement for my truck. the option configurations suck.

also i think the new body non raptor looks funny in the suprecrew 5.5 bed.

side note have u drove a 3.5lecoboost? one drive with it was all it took for me to order it in my truck.

No. I'm almost out of paying mine (got it a little over 2 years ago). I don't want to get in debt for another 40k. I love my KR and my particular 5.4 3v has been very very good to me...*knock on wood* Plus, people that want to show off get new trucks. Established individuals drive older trucks with character!!!

No.

It'd be nice to be having a 2017 F150.
But then, I would be paying $550 plus insurance a month for the next 5 years.

My 2005 has been paid off since before 2012. Having no car note gives me room to do other things I enjoy.

The only thing I'd rather have is a 2017 Super Duty with the 6.7. Other than that I'm proud to own an 05.

Agreed.
I'd rather keep my 40k in the bank than on a depreciating asset.

No envy, I like my truck over any new one any day of the week.

1)It's been paid off for 6 years already
2)It works and looks good still
3)I like to modify it so it's different, and older nice truck gets rarer every day
4)I'm not into all the electronics in the new trucks, I don't need SYNC and all that stuff. I just add the features I want like bluetooth, DVD player, backup camera, heated seats, etc.
5)It's old enough where I don't feel bad if it gets dirty and a rock chip

You never know when you see a new truck... with leasing it's hard to say "envious", as the person never actually owns the vehicle, just basically rents it long-term, something I would not want to do considering I maintain my own vehicles and enjoy doing so.

THIS! I got my 2004 about two years ago with only about 30% left to depreciate... it's fairly well loaded (FX4), has been reliable, useful, looks great, and gets many compliments.

I just can't get into the front look of the new F-150's. The headlights are gaudy IMO.
